Joshua Siviter became a professional Drummer at the age of 17, having started playing at the age of 9. Joshua was Privately taught by Tom Franklin Owner of Pro Music Tuition, began being taught out of the Rockschool books, being shown various rudiments and styles of drumming and also shown how to sight read and Improvise, and understand drum notation.
When Josh started drumming, we was influenced by Bill ward - Sabbath, John Bonham - Zeppelin, Dave Grohl - Nirvana, as well as Bands such Black Sabbath, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Led Zeppelin, and many more bands that where a Rock based genre.
Joshua Continued his development of Drumming in Highschool, by discovering different genres of music, and develop his playing in other genres, such as Reggae, Punk, Soul.
Josh joined a Band in Highschool, with two of his mates, they had no singer, but they deveopled ideas as a band, and being creative with covers.
His Highschool, got them to perform in front of many people, in and also outside of school, cause they wanted them to show the creativeness of there performance also there own written songs and also represent the school. Performing at the Robin 2, also Kerrang Radio, and numerous theatres.
During highschool, Joshua was attending his Dads Penticostal church "Flame Community Church" every sunday since he was born. When Joshua was at the age of 11 he became a member of the worship band at his church, Joshua's development as a drummer grew a lot, because he was performing at his church every sunday for 8 years, performing many different worships songs, and his understanding of playing with a band and working together as a group, as well as creating his own rhythms and fills for all the songs that they performed. Joshua became so used to being on stage that he became comfortable and relaxed on stage that made him grow more as a performer, as well as never get a foot wrong in his role as a drummer.
Josh, then left highschool, with a Btec and GCSE in Music. Getting a reward at Highschool for most creative and best practical student in music.
Josh then attended Halesowen College to study Music Btec. During his Time at College, he developed every single day as musician, Practising everyday, learning more and more genres of music. Put in different bands, working with many different artists, performing many gigs at college. Josh was guided through college by the college lecturer Keith York, Keith is a drummer who has been in many bands and touring around the world and playing on big well known stages, and also recording for many artists around the world. Joshua Performed at The first ever Halesowen College event called Mayfly, being the headlining act called "Too Much Too Young" a Specials Tribute.
After Getiing a distinction overall at College, and getting a Distinction in all of his performances and also getting a Distinction in Grade 8 Drums Rockschool. Josh then went to Wolverhampton University to study Popular Music. During His time at Uni he has a one to one Drum tutor called Neil Bullock who is an Incredible Jazz Drummer, taught by Dave Brubecks world renowned Drummer Joe Morrelo. Including Moeller method expert Jim Chapin.
Joshua Has been taught by Neil Bullock for 3 years, and has been Improving so much as a Drummer, building better technique, and independence. He has been perfecting Genres of music, broadening his library of skills, but also gaining knowledge of the history of the instrument.
While Joshua just started studying Wolverhampton University, Tom Franklin offered Joshua a job to work at Pro Music Tuition, Joshua has been working at Pro for nearly 5 years, teaching one to one drums to students as well as groups, teaching all genres all styles, out of books, drum notation, Improv, rudiments. Pro Music, does build a band days where students can experience band situations and play in groups, as well as Live and Loud, where we get a venue and sort equipment and get our students perform on stage, either on there own or as a group.
May 16th Joshua is performing at The Robin 2, it is his Dissertation Performance for University, his event is called "Drumming Legends" (Discovering 60s & 70s Drummers) Josh will be playing 5 star Drumming, Performing, Led, Zeppelin, Cream, Sabbath, Hendrix, The Faces, Fleetwood mac, The Police and The Who.
